Applications in the format in employment notice hereunder are invited from the

Age Limit: For UR candidate : 18 yrs to 40 yrs. For OBC candidates : 18
yrs to 43 yrs. As on 1stJan., 2013,For SC/ST candidates : 18 yrs to 45 yrs.
Mode of selection :-
Written
Test followed by verification of documents. The question papers for the written
test shall be consisting of multiple choice, objective type questions aimed to
assess General Knowledge / Awareness, Mathematics, Reasoning and professional
subject etc. There will be no question of checking proficiency in languages.
Question will be in BENGALI, HINDI, URDU & ENGLISH. All visually
handicapped candidates including blind and partially blind persons with
disabilities not less than 40% who have applied for the examination can avail
the assistance of a SCRIBE by their own provision for indicating replies on
their behalf.
The
consent for allowing Scribe for the visually handicapped in Proforma at
Annexure-B must reach to Dy.Chief Personnel Officer/RP, Eastern Railway, 17,
N.S.Road, 1st Floor, Fairlie Place, Kolkata – 700 001 at least 15 days before
the date of Written Examination failing which Scribe can not be permitted to
them. Candidates who are able to read the questions papers and to write or indicate
the answer with help of magnifying glass shall be allowed to use the magnifying
glass in the Examination Hall. However, such candidates will have to bring
their own magnifying glass in the Examination Hall and shall not be provided
with SCRIBE.

Neatly hand written application in English / Hindi on A4 size foolscap paper in
format enclosed with a recent pass port size photograph pasted thereon bearing
full signature of the candidate across the same with date should be made to
Dy.Chief Personnel Officer/RP, Eastern Railway, 17, N.S.Road, 1st Floor,
Fairlie Place, Kolkata – 700 001. Applications with enclosure may be sent by
ordinary post or dropped in the box, kept in the CPO’s Office Hall, Eastern
Railway Headquarter at 17, N.S.Road, 1st Floor, Fairlie Place, Kolkata – 700
001.
Two
passport size photographs (same as affixed on application) with name written on
the back must be enclosed. NO EXAMINATION FEE IS REQUIRED. Necessary
certificates of proper Medical Authorities / Board should be enclosed with
application in support of candidate’s disability, Proforma of which is at
Annexure-C.
