2012. Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology (WIHG) is a premier Earth Science
Institution engaged in advance level of research in all aspects of geology and
geodynamics of the Himalaya. Applications for the under mentioned tenured posts
co-terminus with the tenure of the project and to be filled purely on temporary
basis in the DST sponsored project entitled “Centre for Glaciology at WIHG” are

Qualifications and Experience:
1st Class M.Sc./M.Tech /M. Phil in Geology/Earth
Sciences/Hydrology/Meteorology/Physics/Chemistry or other allied subjects.
Desirable
:
(a) Ph.D in the area of Glaciology or three years
research experience in the specialized field of Glaciology.
(b) Field experience in the following fields of
Glaciology:
(i) Physical Glaciology: Glacier Mass Balance and
Dynamics, Glacial Geomorphology, Glacial Sedimentology, Glacial Seismicity and
Remote Sensing.
(ii) Climate Change: Atmospheric Sciences, including
Atmospheric Chemistry, Physics, Meteorology, Snow/Ice Melt Water Chemistry and
Isotope Studies.
(iii) Glacial Hydrology: Snow/Ice Melt Water
Discharge, Sediment Transfer, Englacial and Subglacial Hydrology.
(iv) Environmental glaciology, including Ecology.
Age
Limit : Not exceeding 35 years as on 30.09.2012.

the application form from our Website and should submit their application on
the prescribed form only, failing which the application will be liable to be
rejected. Attested photocopies in support of educational qualifications,
experience etc MUST be submitted with the application form. In case of the
candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC or PH category or being a widow, divorced
woman or judicially separated woman, attested copies of Caste Certificates or
Certificate in support of PH category or other relevant certificate MUST be
submitted with the application, failing which the relaxations available will
not be allowed. Candidates already working elsewhere MUST route their
applications through proper channel. Completed application along with complete
enclosures MUST reach the Registrar, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, 33,
