How to reach Shirdi ?

From Mumbai you can travel through bus to Shirdi. I don't think Shirdi railway station is operational. It might take some time, to visit Shirdi by train.

However you can make a search on Indian railways website, for availability and online railway ticket booking. There is a search train option which you can use. From your city (any city within India) you can choose for Shirdi railway station the code for the same is SHIRDI O A (SAIO).

The nearest railway stations from Shirdi are Kopergaon (16 kilometers from Shridi in distance) often spelt as Kopergaun (this spelling is not available on railway site) the code for same to make a search on Indian railway booking site is KOPARGAON (KPG). Another nearest railway Station from Shirdi is Manmad code for the same is MANMAD JN (MMR) (60 kilometers to Shirdi in distance ). So that solves the problem for finding a train from one destination to Shirdi railway station or the nearest railway stations in India.

Another option to travel to Shirdi is by Bus. There are bus service provider all around India for the same and it is the most widely used mode of transportation from earlier days until these days. Things might change once the trains starts arriving at Shirdi Railway Station.

Traveling from Major cities like Mumbai , Pune, Ahmednagar, (Maharashtra) or cities like Surat, Baroda and Ahmedabad the best route available is traveling by road. So the trip can be your car, a taxi or bus.

The Dwarawati Bhaktiniwas is next to the Dharmashala & two minutes walking distance from the Bus stand. It is built recently in the year 2008. It has 334 rooms & dormitories & large rooms to accommodate small groups or families of six to ten people. It also have 80 AC Rooms .This complex is also well equipped with the facilities like the parking space, 24 hr. water supply, electricity supply (with full capacity generator back-up) & the security.

Sansthan is taking care of the common Devotees by providing the accommodations at fairly affordable prices. A simple room (non-attached with latrine & bathroom) with common facilities, is available merely at the charge of Rs. 50/-, which can accommodate four person. And the A.C. suits are also available at the charge of Rs.700/- per day.

The New Bhakta Niwas is the biggest accommodation complex consisting 542 rooms of various categories. It is about 01 Kilometer away, on south of the Mandir Complex, on the Highway itself. Free bus service, shuttling between the New Bhakta Niwas & the Mandir Complex is provided round the clock. This complex is well equipped with the parking space, canteen facility, 24 Hr. water, electricity supply (with full capacity generator back-up) and the security. It is equipped with the solar hot water system.

The Dharmashala Complex is on south-west of the Mandir Complex & on west of the Bus-stand, hardly at the distance of 0.5 Kilometer from S.T. stand. This complex is established in year 2000, mainly to facilitate the devotees coming in major groups. It has big dormitories & large halls to accommodate 15 to 80 people. The average charge, including the common services of latrine & Bath-rooms, is merely Rs.13/- per person. This complex is also well equipped with the facilities like the parking space, canteen facility, 24 Hr. water, electricity supply (with full capacity generator back-up) and the security.

Shirdi Sai Baba Temple Aarti - Darshan Timings:

4:30 a.m - Dwarkamai, Gurusthan, Chavadi open.

5:00 a.m - Mandir opens, Bhupali and Abhishekam at Gurusthan.

5:15 a.m - Kakad (morning) Arati, Naivedyam of butter and sugar to Baba in Samadhi Mandir, Oil offered to the lamps in Dwarkamai.

5:40 a.m - Bhajan in Saibaba Mandir.

6:00 a.m - Mangal Snaan (washing) of Statue and Samadhi in Samadhi Mandir.

7:00 a.m - Darshan begins in Samadhi Mandir.

9:00 a.m - Naivedyam in Samadhi Mandir and Dwarkamai.

8:00 - 10:30 a.m - Satyanarayana Pooja.

11:30 a.m - Dhuni Pooja with rice and ghee in Dwarkamai.

12:00 p.m - Mid day Arati.

12:30 p.m - Naivedyam in Samadhi Mandir, Dwarkamai and Gurusthan.

4:00 p.m - Pothi (Devotional reading/Study) in Samadhi Mandir Sunset: Dhoop (evening) Arati.

6:30 p.m - Naivedyam in Samadhi Mandir, Dwarkamai and Gurusthan.

8:00 - 9:00 p.m - Devotional Songs in Samadhi Mandir.

9:00 p.m - Chavadi and Gurusthan close.

9:30 p.m - In Dwarkamai water is given to Baba, a mosquito net is hung and the hanging lamp is it.

9:45 p.m - : Dwarkamai closes.

10:00 p.m - Shej (night) Arati, after this , a shawl is wrapped around the statue in the Samadhi Mandir, a Rudraksha mala is put around baba's neck, Mosquito net is hung, and a glass of water kept their 10:45 p.m - Samadhi Mandir closes after night Aarti.

Frequently I will be visiting to the shirdi city to have sai baba dharshan but last time shirdi trip was so good. I booked to and fro journey from Hyderabad to shirdi. Coming to the accommodation, Shrisainivas mega Dharmashala accommodation was good and tariff rates are very affordable and restaurant food is also good. They gave very important and useful information like pooja timings, visiting places, which helped us very much to Visit more places around shirdi city. I never excepted that the hotels in shirdi will gives so much priority to the devotees.
